Event Details

Diversity Honors, the globally renowned celebration that benefits Harvey Milk Foundation and The Pride Center at Equality Park, exclusively hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, will return on Saturday, October 9, at 7 p.m. to recognize those who are transforming lives by living authentically and advancing inclusiveness. This year’s significant event that will coincide with LGBT+ History Month will honor stage and screen acting legend and philanthropist Julie Newmar (Catwoman, “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar”) with the DMK Harvey Milk Foundation ICON Award, social influencer Brian Christopher with the Harvey Milk Foundation Visibility Medal, Lithuanian filmmaker Romas Zabarauskas with the Harvey Milk Foundation LGBTQ Champion Award and Visit Lauderdale with the Alan Schubert Award. Receiving the prestigious Diversity Honors awards are Director of Transgender Equality for Equality Florida Action, Inc. Gina Duncan, attorney and activist Shenika “Nik” Harris, Executive Director for Legal Aid Service of Broward County Anthony J. Karrat and entrepreneur Linda Rae.

The celebratory evening will include an elegant cocktail reception featuring a balloon pop and a raffle of luxury items followed by a seated dinner with an open bar, the awards presentation and live entertainment by Company B (“Fascinated”). The special event will be emceed by Jacey Birch, WPLG news anchor, with awards presented by Stuart Milk as the co-founder and board president of the Harvey Milk Foundation. Mandatory COVID-19 rapid testing begins at 4 p.m.

The event is a collaborative effort that will continue to keep South Florida on the international stage of LGBT+ rights and activism in honor of Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States who was assassinated shortly after winning a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. This year marks the 43rd anniversary of Harvey Milk’s historic service.

Tickets are $250 per person, plus a service fee, for the cocktail chic event. A virtual experience is available for the same price complete with a basket delivery from Red Chair Catering. For more information, visit www.DiversityHonors.org.
