Destination Sistrunk presents the culminating event for SongFest 2019, an inaugural music industry program that seeks to cultivate the business of music in Broward County.
Event Details
The evening will feature performances and a music industry panel. 11 local artists will showcase live, original, multi-genre music that was created over the course of the SongFest seminar. SongFest artists will be accompanied by a veteran, all-star band comprised of musicians Lee Levin, Doug Emery, Camilo Velandia, and John Falcone,
Two-time Grammy nominee Elsten Torres will moderate a diverse panel of music industry professionals: Angel Zamora, managing director of EP Entertainment Latin music division; Suzie Analogue, conceptual electronic music singer, songwriter and beatmaker; Jordan Solomon, multi-genre drummer and teacher, fresh off the Lil Baby New Generation Tour; Bryant Del Toro, Miami native pop musician and active volunteer with nonprofit organization Musicians on Call; Marie Roman, Chief Dream Maker, Naked Monkey Entertainment; Leo DaVincci, hip hop artist and producer; and Milcho, Vice President, Florida Chapter of the Recording Academy
SongFest 2019 culminating event is free to the public and complimentary refreshments will be provided.
About the Seminar
The SongFest Seminar created an invaluable learning experience for local artists in Broward by providing an opportunity to learn from and work with music industry professionals.
Led by two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter and producer Elsten Torres, participants of SongFest learned to develop their music creation skills and gained knowledge to carry them forward throughout their musical career. Consisting of a 6-session seminar throughout August 2019, 11 performers worked together, in groups and individually on creation of original music. The 11 performers are from all areas of Broward, with a broad range of musical skills and styles.
