Ashanti Cultural Arts presents, Swinging Fridays -- Jazz on the Boulevard, a monthly swing dance & Jazz concert series.
Realizing the original two art forms are slowly disappearing and not being performed by its originators, Black Americans, Ashanti hopes to revitalize both. South Florida swing dancers and Jazz lovers will have an opportunity to remember the yesterdays when Swing dancing and Jazz music were the art forms enjoyed by both the wealthy and the everyday person in this country.
The Swing dance class, beginning at 6pm, will be taught by professional dancer and performer, Mr. Bradley Rogers. Known for his easy, smooth moves and huge following throughout South Florida.
The Jazz series, beginning at 7pm, will make any Jazz lover stand up, shout and groove to the sounds of such renowned musicians. On November 30, we welcome the Jessie Jones, Jr. a Miami native who is an extraordinary saxophonist and continues to be on the forefront of a burgeoning jazz renaissance in South Florida.
