If these activities get you tired and hungry, don’t worry, the event will also feature a hot dog and watermelon eating contest! As the evening comes to an end, witness the incredible fireworks show at 9 p.m. to send off another unforgettable 4th of July.
Stopping by a few of Fort Lauderdale’s notorious bars is another fun way to celebrate this 4th of July. Places such as America's Backyard and Big City Tavern always throw amazing parties and offer great deals on their drinks and cocktails. If you’re new to the area, get to know a little bit of Fort Lauderdale’s nightlife by visiting the famous Las Olas Boulevard and its nearby nightclubs and bars. On July 3, celebrate the second annual Block Party at 3200 NE 12 Avenue in Oakland Park starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy delicious tacos, beer, and live entertainment featuring artists like Rob Base with the Sugar Hill Gang and DJ Citizen Jane. The party will also have a kids’ zone will bouncy houses and face painting while the adults will be able to enjoy complimentary drinks and shots throughout the night. The official block party ends at 12 a.m., but if you want to keep the Independence Day party going, you can take part in the afterparty inside!
Enjoy musical talents such as VayB, T-Vice, and Oliver Duret on July 3 at Karu in Fort Lauderdale. Start off your 4th of July events in Fort Lauderdale with a live concert from these world famous Haitian musicians hosted by La Force Entertainment Group. Tickets range from $27 to $55.
The 4th of July 5k Virtual Race is a great way to celebrate our Independence Day while keeping it healthy, fit, and supporting a good cause along the way. Hosted by Virtual Run Events, the race consists of running a 5k route from anywhere in the world. You can participate at your own pace, celebrating 4th of July in a unique way and supporting Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans. Tickets go for $18 if you’re inside the U.S. and $28 if you’re participating from another country. After signing up, participants will be able to send in their time and receive their corresponding medals to their homes.
